The above title is not indicating when the Canadian Federal election is but rather a statement of what you and I should do. Why did I bold "should"? Because I believe that a person should vote when granted the opportunity do so.
Now I know everyone has their reasons to not vote, and they range from "my vote doesn't make a difference" to "there is no one I'd like vote for". Personally I think these excuses are lame. One reason it's a lame because we are granted the opportunity to participate in the democratic process that not everyone in the world is afforded to have. Even in our present day there are still people dying to vote (E.g. refer to Iraq) and yet they still stand in lines waiting to cast their ballot when they know that at any given time some maniac could come running towards them strapped with a huge bomb. Yet they still wait. (please spare me from the anti-bush/anti-american comments concerning Iraq). Yes the electoral system is far from perfect but that shouldn't deter us from being a part of the democratic process. And for those who say that there is no one that they want to vote for. I call Bull Shit on you, and dare say that you don't even know each parties platform (Conservative, Liberal, NDP & Green). I purposely left out the Bloc Quebecois, because it shouldn't be an issue unless you live in Quebec *shudder*. Sure they lie but that's the name of the game. So quit whining and get out there and decide Canada's future.
I'll stop here to refrain from using the same cliches to try and promote voting but please take your time this weekend to go over the candidates and see what they and their party stand for and make your voice count on Monday.
